Week One, Again

So last year I remember writing something like the first week of classes was the longest week of my life. Well, this year I was hoping it would be better. I was wrong. It’s been seven days but it has felt like an entire month, again. But, this time I didn’t have to go through it all alone! That’s always nice. My classes this year are few but they are very long. I have my studio class (three hours) which is in the morning this semester! Yay! But then on some days I have two super long classes in a row and – if you know anything about me – you know that I can’t pay attention for five hours of only two different subjects. So this ought to be an interesting self study in the inattentive nature of myself.
I saw a cool hot air balloon yesterday:

My First Day Back

I am very proud of my packing job for this year. Last year, I put off packing for too long, but this year, I started more than a week before and it certainly was easier!

Here is a picture of the car, filled to the brim with my many things:

Now I’m back, mostly unpacked and mostly organized. This year I get a room with only ONE other person, instead of FIVE. This is very exciting! My dorm is a suite with two bedrooms, each holding two occupants. These rooms are connected by a common room (Which is what you enter into from the hallway) and a bathroom. It’s nice 🙂

Here are some pictures of my side of the room:

(Those cool ukulele paintings on my cork board were by buddy Rachel)

It’s sad leaving home again after a great summer but I am very excited for this year! Yay school.

If My Life Were A TV Show, This Would be Season Two

WHERE DID MY SUMMER GO?!?!?!

I have to start school next week! Ack! I’m not ready for this. But I guess I actually did a lot this summer.

I did lots of painting! I painted some ukulele cases…

and the doors of the gym where I do gymnastics… (sorry about the reflection)

And finally, after putting it off for most of the summer, I painted my mom’s rain barrel!

I also drove on the highway for the first time ALL BY MY SELF. This to you may seem like not much of an accomplishment but I am very proud of not chickening out 🙂

My family vacation was to the one and only Yosemite National Park! It certainly lived up to the hype, but there were a ton of tourists there. As much effort as the NPS puts into preserving the natural landscape for everyone to enjoy, it still gets trampled all over by people who are trying to get the experience. Don’t get me wrong, this place is amazing.

After we visited Yosemite, we made our way to San Francisco where we also did some cool stuff.

My mom drove down Lombard Street, also called the Crooked Street, which was super cool! Even though you can’t tell from my poor photography skills, the street was very pretty. There were also plenty of tourists sanding along the sides taking pictures and watching all the cars brave the crooked road.

And we also went by the Mythbusters studio, “M5 Industries”

And also, I accidentally made a scrambled egg in the shape of a chick!
